Just to thank everyone for the help - as always, extremely useful and the mail problem seems to be cured now! It is no longer continually crashing, and the deleted items are remaining deleted.
As a side note - I used to be able to see the progress of incoming mail in a little box to the left of and above the main mail screen. It is no longer there - has it been discontinued since El Capitan? Thanks Andrew > On 1 Mar 2016, at 7:50 am, andrew lancaster <[email protected]> wrote: > > Sam, I found it and deleted them.
