so does washington count considering he wasnt actually a professional soldier?Absolutely. He did have plenty of experience from earlier colonial service, and he was the official commander-in-chief of the Continental forces for years.
If you want to exclude him because his service predated the Constitution, well, that's another argument. The ones who served afterwards include Grant, Eisenhower, and Zachary Taylor as you mentioned, plus William Henry Harrison. I think there may have been one or two others, but those for sure.
