The New York radio jock who alluded to Rochester’s black mayor as an orangutan has been fired from his job at WHAM-AM, reports the Associated Press.
Bob Lonsberry, had been suspended and then agreed to undergo diversity training after coming under intense criticism from the NAACP and others in the community. Words of his on a web column appear to have tipped the scales against him once and for all.
Lonsberry's column, entitled "Whose side are you on?," attacked the "liberal and afraid ... who seek to dominate society through threat and intimidation, who have abandoned principle and decency in the name of arrogance and power."
