actually i was in favor of the fathers rights in that case, and i approached it this way.  What would we, as Americans, have done if an American child whose mother had died en route to another country was kept in that country by relatives who refused to return that child to the father?  Whether we agree with Cuba's politics or not it was the right move, a stink was only raised because it WAS a communist nation the father lived in.  If that nation were France, England, or another "allied" nation an American representative would have escorted him home.
