I'm glad that works for you. I just don't think it would work for me. Actually peanut butter is where I get a lot of my iron from and a pb&j sandwich helps a craving for something sweet sometimes too. I guess the only thing you can say is you have to do what works for you. What works for one might not work for someone else. ============================================================ From: "GOP Momma" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: 2003/10/29 Wed PM 01:20:59 EST To: "The Sandbox Discussion List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [Sndbox] Eat it up
pasta, peanut butter (at first) and milk were the hardest. I am going to start adding back in whole wheat pasta in the next couple of weeks. I am getting close to goal now. I already added PB and nuts back in along with some fruits too. ~*~*Bethany*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Low Carbers Hair Pretties ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* ----- Original Message ----- From: Angela To: The Sandbox Discussion List Sent: Wednesday, October 29, 2003 1:17 PM Subject: RE: [Sndbox] Eat it up LOL, I just can't give up my pasta though. I don't cook separate meals either. Like last night, I made a meatloaf, mashed potatoes, asparagus. I ate the same dinner just no potatoes. Night before I made a yummy chicken and broccoli fish that I've actually been making since before I even knew what low carb was. Everyone eats it. The only time I don't eat what my family eats is when I make spaghetti. But I always make a salad with spaghetti/pasta anyway. So I eat the salad and maybe a grilled piece of chicken that night. ~*~*Bethany*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Low Carbers Hair Pretties ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* ----- Original Message ----- From: Angela To: The Sandbox Discussion List Sent: Wednesday, October 29, 2003 12:44 PM Subject: RE: [Sndbox] Eat it up I've had some great low fat, low calorie and low carb meals. I think things just work differently for e'one. Actually part of the reason I don't diet is b/c I'm anemic so I have to take the iron where I can get it to keep from having to take supplements. Diets just don't work for me but the way I do things does work. But don't get me wrong, I don't sit around and eat junk all day. I usually have something like oatmeal or toast for breakfast, lunch depends on what I have in the house, today it's spaghetti and then dinner is usually something that is healthy. But I also refuse to cook separate meals for myself and my kids and my doctor at one time told me to never have them eat anything that comes off a diet b/c kids need everything that is in different foods. So I just make sure I make well balanced meals and keep healthy snacks around. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of GOP Momma Sent: Wednesday, October 29, 2003 12:34 PM To: The Sandbox Discussion List Subject: Re: [Sndbox] Eat it up Yes we have. I eat the way is good for me. I don't completely deprive myself of everything though either..LOL I bet there are alot of recipes/meals/desserts I make you'd never know were low carb. Especially my strawberry cheesecake. Yum! ~*~*Bethany*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Low Carbers Hair Pretties ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* ----- Original Message ----- From: Angela To: The Sandbox Discussion List Sent: Wednesday, October 29, 2003 12:04 PM Subject: RE: [Sndbox] Eat it up LOL< we already went round and round on this one. What works for some doesn't work for others. I don't take in much sugar anyway and I don't give up my starches b/c a lot of them have carbs in them and you need carbs so you have energy to burn which also can help in weight loss. I lose weight just by exercising and eating the same as always, just I eat slow and when I feel full, I stop. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of GOP Momma Sent: Wednesday, October 29, 2003 11:49 AM To: The Sandbox Discussion List Subject: Re: [Sndbox] Eat it up It's not pudding in the sense you are thinking. It's actually more like pumpkin cheesecake. Sugar and starches aren't good for you. So any *diet* or weight loss program is going to have you eliminating sugars or reducing them significantly. No ways around it. I prefer to eat more healthy now then to fill my body with empty calories. Treats are fine..sure. Not saying I don't or won't eat sugar items. But I prefer to eat healthy alternatives on a daily basis and save treats for special times every now and again. :) ~*~*Bethany*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Low Carbers Hair Pretties ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* ----- Original Message ----- From: Angela To: The Sandbox Discussion List Sent: Wednesday, October 29, 2003 8:12 AM Subject: RE: [Sndbox] Eat it up LOL, no offense, but yuck. Something about pumpkin pie, which for me is only tolerable at best, yet I have to have it every Thanksgiving or its just not Thanksgiving, and mix it with pudding just doesn't sound very appetizing. That's just me though. I know a few people that would actually probably like it. I just don't like having to replace foods with different foods. I just figure what good is it if ya can't enjoy things you really love. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of GOP Momma Sent: Wednesday, October 29, 2003 8:02 AM To: The Sandbox Discussion List Subject: Re: [Sndbox] Eat it up I have plenty of yummy things though in replacement..like my pumpkin pie pudding.
