Yes, I understand that. And that is my point in what I said earlier. Everything offends everyone. Instead of just ignoring things like we used to...we have to make a federal case of it all.

But it is a statue of a goddess, not an historical figure.  They can't change the history of the art.  The problem with the "I'm offended take it away" mentality is everything is going to offend someone.

Yes true. But then again... they could argue the statue is of a historical figure. The 10 C's are representative of a faith that is not practiced by everyone.
I agree with you..but I know how the libs think.

But then if offense is going to be the new standard, then he should have a great case that the statue offends him.  Heck Mick offends me, maybe we can have him carted away.

good one. I am sure they will say that she is simply a piece of artwork, whereas the 10 C's were a reminder and offense to any non Christians.

He said that when he went to trial yesterday there was a statue of a Greek goddess in front of the federal courthouse.  He wants to know why the ten commandments was an unconstitutional display of religion and the display of a pagan goddess is not.

He said that they asked him in the closed session three different times if he would be willing to refuse to acknowledge God if returned to the bench.

It sounds to me like they expect a judge to renounce his faith to serve...
