Most of the ones I have eaten had Bar-B-Q sauce on top.

well the catsup is a very thin layer. You put it on before baking. When it's finished, it's not like you really even taste it on the meatloaf. But it does keep it moist.

That's just nasty.  I hate meatloaf, but putting catsup on it is even worse.  I hate catsup worse than meatloaf.

If so..then try covering your meatloaf with a thin layer of catsup. It seals in the meats natural juices. Your meatloaf will come out juicy, not dry. No gravy needed.
