Christmas Cheerios Trees
3 tbs. butter
32 large or 3 cups miniature marshmallows
1/2
tsp green food coloring
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 drop peppermint extract if desired

cups cheerios
small gumdrops
In large saucepan melt butter & marshmallows over low
heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat;stir in
food coloring & flavorings. Fold
in cheerios until evenly coated. On waxed paper with buttered
hands,quickly shape warm mixture into Christmas trees,using about 2/3's cup
mixture for each tree. (slant hands slightly and press mixture in &
down at the same time, turning the mixture to make a round tree.)
for
ornaments, cut gumdrops into 3 or 4 slices each & press onto
tree.
Makes 6 to 8 place
card- size trees. For small,cookie-size trees: use 1/4 cup cheerio mixture. Cut
gumdrop slices into quarters. Makes 16 to 20.
