First, Congrats to Bob McGowan who opened up a brand new, full 16oz can of WhoopAss on the field. Times were, for the most part, not too tough this year but Bob was the landing machine. Way to go. As always the contest was well organized and ran quite smoothly. Mike, Phil and crew GREAT WORK!! Why is it, no matter what the contest, the winches all go down at the same time when the best air is present? Repairs were quick and efficient. Recovered from soiled underwear when Arthur M's and Bren Lugo's large rocket was launched on Friday without warning. Those things will get your attention. Tom Hoopes stepped in an ran a great HL event is just over 1hr. Saw a transmitter get a better launch than the plane. That one should get a few laughs at the repair shop. Nite ops pylon was cool. Maybe a real event for next year. Parking was a bitch as usual. A little more common cortesy could be used here. I don't really see a need to block off a bunch of parking spaces for specific club members. This creates a major inconvenience for everybody else. Maybe move all of the campers and motorhomes to one end. Their vehicles are not going anywhere. First come first serve!! The raffle was great as usual. Now if we can find a way to cut about 1 hour off the time to get it done. Just got to the airport this year!! Thanks to all of the vendors who gratiously donated for the raffle. Thanks Karlton for spearheading additional motivation for more donations. Absolutely one of the highlights was seeing "Kill Missile" launch on Saturday night. It is hard to believe when the light went out at the intercept point it was 140 miles high and 3000 miles off the coast. WOW!! See you all in Phoenix. Register early, it fills quick. Darwin N.
