About a year ago I purchase my first scale sailplane from a fellow Seattle Area
Soaring Society member. Now that I live 15 minutes from Point of the Mountain,
Utah I need to get this thing slope-ready ASAP. Not that I didn’t have a good
time last Saturday flying my Genie LT/S in 35mph winds, but I’m anxious to
build a slope fleet.

The plane is a 2 meter DG800s by Thermo Fluegel in Germany.

That being said, one of the remaining things I need to do is cover the wings.
They are white foam with an obeche skin (about 1/16" thick). I would prefer
one of the plastic coverings (Monocoat, etc.) but I’m afraid that I’ll melt the
foam with the iron or the heat gun.

It needs to look nice from maybe 20 feet away ☺

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
