Its comfortably warm and sunny in Thousand Oaks, California.
Don't believe the sensational journalistic copy about global warming,
its not going to make winters as we know them go away. (You always get
the stories at the beginning of winter before the first cold weather
hits.) I've got relatives that are living east of Saskatoon in Canada
and they've been below zero (C) (also most of the time F) since late
October. Its currently a balmy 19F (-7C) there and they've got another
month before they get up above freezing. The only good thing about being
up there is that the snow's granular so it blows around like sand rather
than having to be shovelled like wet concrete. They seem happy enough
but all the same I think I'll stay somewhere where the furnace going out
isn't a life threatening emergency.
