It's back to the old "you get what you pay for" discussion. Now, I agree with you
that price alone doesn't mean everything, but in
general, you can figure that quality comes at a cost! No, there isn't anything wrong
with Hitec products. There are some better
products that do cost more. I own Multiplex, Airtronics and Hitec servos. All move
the surface similarly. But, I can tell you that
the MPX digitals are much stronger and more accurate than the others that I have.
Yes, they cost a bunch more, but if you are
planning on spending $1000-2000 on an unlimited sailplane with spares and tools etc.,
saving $100 just to save it doesn't make much
sense to me. If you are flying a $50 Sapphire 2M, then you probably don't want to
spend $90+ for each servo. But get a high
performance composite or molded ship, and yes it's worth it!
Finally, the less you have to spend, the better equipment you need! gv
