I just purchased a bunch of free flight hand launch glider kits from
Stan Buddenbohm - a well known ffhlg designer and pilot. With my kits he
enclosed a photo of a hand launched glider he called a "folder". The
wings on this thing are tucked in during launch and upon transition the
wings "unfold". I was wondering if anyone ever though of this idea for
rchlg's. You could probably get a lot more launch altitude with the
wings tucked in - sort of like throwing a javelin that has wings that
pop out when maximum altitude it reached.
