The AMA 200-2001 rulebook, page 117, states that the FAI weight limitation is
5 kilograms (11.023lbs), and that AMA contests adhere to this limit
(paragraph 3.2). It's been this way as long as I can remember. I believe that
the scale guys are getting waivers to this rule, but as a CD I don't
currently plan to do so for any of my contests. I know that a contestant was
not allowed to exceed this at the soaring Nats scale event last year.

The only reference I can find regarding weight in the AMA book is 55 LBS, and
the other reference is talking about FAI weight limits.  Most AMA contests
are
not FAI contests.

So I guess the question is, can I use my 15 lb scalie to fly the LSF tasks
and
in AMA contests if I winch launch her??
