If there are no metal rods, etc. protruding from the roots, here is an easy
way: block up the panel to the suggested dihedral, say 4 degrees. Use a rule
of thumb that 1/16" rise in 3-1/2" is 1 degree. Pick a multiple of 3-1/2",
say 28" (8 multiple) at which point to do the blocking up. Thus 8/16" or
1/2" is 1 degree at 28". 2" is 4 degrees. Now place the panel on a piece of
1/2" plywood, etc. so the root is raised off the work surface. Now, make up
a squared-up sanding block say 12" x 2" x 3/4" and apply some 80 grit
sandpaper on the 2" wide side with 3M 77, etc. With the panel blocked up and
the root slightly extended, draw the sanding block repeatedly across the
root to impart the dihedral. Be careful to do a straight draw so the root
remains flat.
