I am getting ready to cut foam for a full flying stab. I will be using a
blend of the HT14 (4.5"root) and an HT12 (3.75") at the tip. Bell crank
pivot and actuating pin hole is 1.5" C/L.

Is there a formula for figuring out the optimal pivot point of the bell
crank position?

I am thinking that the pivot point should be positioned at some distance
that makes the top and bottom surfaces balanced when actuated.

Has anyone else used Mark Drela's HT# tail
airfoils(http://www.charlesriverrc.org/articles/drelaairfoils/markdrela_tail
airfoils.htm) for a full flying stab?

How were your results?

Thanks

Bill
