This might be best approached using a constraint satisfaction algorithm. This is an old Artificial Intelligence technique for labeling line drawings for depth perception, but has application in general search problems as well. If I get a chance I will try to code it up, but not likely anytime soon. Encourage others to do so. breck > > I too am in a quest for same. > > I started to review the algorithm needed to create a random matrix taking > into account, same channel cannot occur in same round or -1 + 1 round, and > a pilot will fly against the same pilot the fewest times possible. > > It would be an interesting application that would most likely need to run > for some time to test many permutations. > > Steve > > > At 02:08 PM 4/10/2002 +0930, Eddie Smith wrote: > >I have a couple of programmes that can do a draw of sorts for a MOM group > >scored > >contest but I have yet to see one that works to my satisfaction. > > > >The main problem seems to be that they do a random draw which isn't what > >you want. > >They produce a draw that flys some guys against others too many times. > > > >I'm running our ORAM contest this weekend and would like to get a better draw > >without the need to shuffle some names in heats to reduce this problem. > > > >Does anyone on this group have a programme running on a PC that will do > >this, and if so can I get a copy of it. > > > >Eddie the Eagle > >in Sunny South Australia. > > > >RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
