I haven't finished mine yet... holidays got in the way.

Things I did or will do, my preferences: (Note, this is my first
full-house setup, so take it into consideration.)

1: I made aileron and flap horns out of 1/16" ply so I could get the
correct back angle on the flap horns for 90-degrees down. Since the
ailerons were center hinged and I didn't want to rip them up for top-hinge,
I left the aileron horns centered on the hinge line. To mount them I just
cut an appropriate slot in the surfaces, all the way to the covering on the
other side and used epoxy to seat them, being careful to ensure they were
aligned identically for each pair. Worked great.

2: A consensus from many is to toss the steel elevator/rudder pushrods to
save weight. I am going to use kevlar pull-pull on rudder and an .0.050
carbon fiber pushrod (from CST) on the elevator. Supposedly this is good
for about 3-4 oz of weight loss by reducing the amount of nose weight needed
to balance out those heavy pushrods.

For some reason, my provided servo tray is a whopping 3/8" too narrow to fit
the fuse! Dunno what happened there. Rather than get all anxious about it
with Great Planes, I'll probably just cut a new one or use cross-rails to
mount this one.

I can't answer to the strength of the fuselage but I haven't heard anything
about them breaking, myself. Seems like a really nice kit for the $120
cost! I'm impressed. Maybe they'll come out with a 3M version too!
