I was reading an article earlier where the author was having trouble finding a spar in a wing. He was trying to find a safe spot to cut a hole in the wing. This is, of course, not an issue on a wing you built yourself, but can be on an ARF. Walmart technology has the answer. A $9 "stud finder" is normally used to find a strong spot in a wall to hang a picture. However, they are much more useful in finding hard spots in a sheeting wing like a spar or servo wire. Just remember to get one with a graduated scale. Some have just 1 signal light which makes things difficult, I have a Stanley Intellisensor model that is great.
