Bill M.'s experience is pretty telling and makes me doubt the need to twist wires at all. Just to be clear, I only suggest it because it costs nothing, takes no time and is a valid approach to reduce common mode electrical noise.
Course if you're into that "drill" method or the "braiding" method then it will take a bit of time.
