Speaking of MinWax products....With the email assistance from
Harley Michaelis, and the Phil "just going to use a little 3M77 here" Barnes
dvd, I just unbagged my first attempt. I had an extra little wing tip
panel about 5" long from the Genie LT/S I'm building and decided to do a trial
run to see if this bagging thing really worked. I had some
MinWax finishing wax left over from some hardwood floor work and decided to use
it on the mylars. I rubbed some on, then wiped it off a minute or so
later. I painted the mylars with Krylon on Monday. I only got my
epoxy on Wednesday and didn't get the little "wing" into the bag until Thursday
afternoon. I was a little worried that leaving the mylars to dry so long
might cause a problem transferring the paint to the wing...not to worry, I
unbagged it today and everything came out great (in my humble opinion)...all the
paint came off the mylars and the mylars are perfectly clean.
