I've been experimenting with MINwax acrylic (satin
finish) and foam and have made some progress as follows:
- MINWAX acyclic can be used to
bond 1/2 oz fiberglass cloth to foam with less trouble than finishing
resin. Just brush it through the cloth and use the good, old toilet paper
roll to blot up excess per finishing resin technique.
- Micro balloons can be mixed with MINWAX acrylic
to make a sanding sealer for foam. One can also use this mixture with
fiberglass cloth and fine sand it smooth when dry.
Note: I've only tried these experiments with
1/2 oz cloth.
