Thanks for several useful suggestions on the foam 'worms' problem a week or so back. Based on input from several responses, it looks like the problem is under control.
Basically, it appears to be the wax. Or, more correctly the waxing technique. I had been triple waxing and then bagging within a few hours. On some parts, I've painted the mylars shortly after waxing and waited ~ 24 hr. before bagging. Those parts had 'worms' as well. This problem has happened with carnauba release wax, McGuiar's, Mother's Gold and Johnson. Based on several suggestions, these same mylars were cleaned, waxed once and then warmed overnight under a lamp. One was then painted and dried with the lamp for another 24 hours. The usual lay-up was then used. Both parts popped out of the bag (and mylars) today and are pretty much flawless. No sign of a dent or 'worm' anywhere. Also, the release was easier than I typically get. Too much of a good thing is not always a good thing. A little patience seems to go a long way to improving the job. Thanks to the folks who responded and posted. Your suggestions were very helpful. - Dave R RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
