Hi John,

In fact I tried to get some soaring in during the day I had in Rotorua,  stayed the Ibis hotel.

When you travel as much as I do, seeing another rock formation or old building made of stone isn't all that exciting.

I had her shipped into Vegas in a Sportube, should have maybe used more bubble wrap cuz she had a few skin dents, but was still plenty servicable for the weekend.  We rented a Harley Springer Soft tail and headed out into the Valley of Fire.  We saw some interesting red rocks and formations, even got out to pet some wild burro's and took a desert hike to the top of a ridge to see what was on the other side...you guessed it...more rocks and sand :-)

Now hooking a thermal in a strange land with some new friends...that get the blood flowing :-)

Do yourself a favor and carry your sailplane along with you!  You'll end up enjoying God's most amazing formations....other RC sailplaner's! :-)

NZ is fairly a nice looking place, but one heck of a hard seat away from Kentucky!
Gordy
