That can be as wide open. My choices are: DSLR: Nikon D50 or Canon XT350. Basically the same features at basically the same cost. If you already have either Canon or Nikon AF lens then stay with that system. 1000.00 with a -200mm lens added.
For Point and shoot or all in one I have a Panasonic FZ5 that is VERY fast shot to shot! Only DSLR's are faster and my Panasonic cost about 350.00 USD today. It has Image Stabilization and a 12x optical Leica lens. If you want to spend all the money go with the Canon 20D or Nikon D200. Both will cost over 2000.00-2500.00 with a lens that you will like.
