I had these problems when I first started boom wrapping transformer wire on my Mosquito Hawk. Wrapping reduced range significantly, I ended up doing 2 wraps around the fuselage longitudinally, then going out the boom with the last few inches trailing. This was much better, even with cheap GWS rx's. This plane is only 30" in span so you can't fly too far out without losing sight of it......
