OK

im now running the latest version of OOo. ill install it on 2 Gateway
notebooks with PIVs w/512 mg, a homebrew ASUS/Athlon64 w/2mg RAM, and 2 Dell
desktops with a PIV/1.50GHz w/1 gig of RAM. all the computers are running XP
Pro, SP2 with current updates. i also have one Dell Laptop PIII w/512 meg of
RAM running XP Home version available.

i cant really show you example docs as thats against security policy. as for
Win2K, we have XP Pro systems exposed to the internet as well as systems NOT
connected to the outside. we dont run Win2k for a couple reasons--its out of
the question with most defense contract bids now anyways. and linux, well,
thats nonexistent in the military desktop. as this is the case, most (all?)
of our contracts require XP Pro SP2 and most of our SEWPs specify Dell or
Gateway with some Macintosh loopholes. those variables wont change anytime
soon. by the way, another doc manager in our company at a different site is
reporting the same problems.

ill try my document (the one that seems to crash the most) on all these
systems. if it fails, i guess my final recourse is to build a fake document
and get to the point where it crashes, and have someone out there take a
look at it.

have i covered all my bases? i have some time i can devote to this but my
boss will shoot me if i move to OOo again and it fails. id REALLY like it
to work as ive stated before, im NOT a big MS fan and i love the Open world.
OO Writer is so clean and easy to use that ill put up with some glitches,
but crashing aint one of them!
