        Thanks for these suggestions, I'll certainly look into them! One  
question though, do they require Mac OS X specific drivers to work?

        Hhhmmm, MacPorts... feel right at home! (I'm MacPorts project  
manager ;-)

        Thanks for the tip! I'll do my homework and study the device &  
software as much as I can once I get all the peaces in place, but I  
hope I can ping you for tips & pointers if I get stuck in the process.
