are you any closer to finding the problem?

I have the exact same symptoms on a 5501-70 (comBIOS ver. 1.32i) unit purchased
last December.
it woked flawlessly until March, but it is freezing up ever since in a random
fashion - sometimes once per week, yesterday 5 times. I'm using Gentoo Linux
with the latest 2.6 kernel.

thank goodness for the watchdog kernel patch so I don't have to manually reset
the thing each time.

same here.

I blamed the PSU and the wireless card first, changed them both (to meanwell
RS-25-12 and intersil prism 200mW) with no results. memtest86+ gave me an ok
for all tests.

what is interesting is that we have almost the same CF card, mine being a
SanDisk SDCFX3-8192 (Extreme III 8G).

do you happen to have a different CF you could try in your setup?
