Sorry, I don't think 2.1 is available yet. I installed 2.0.1, and I
suspect that Jim is a pfSense dev who is working on 2.1. That's why he
says it will be easier "in the future".
I didn't think about putting my notes anywhere. I'll look into the wiki
and try to figure out a good way to organize my notes. Right now I'm
pre-occupied trying to build a pfSense system to hot swap my aging firewall.

You must have misunderstood my original question - I've been able to
get 2.01 working, in fact i've posted several posts related to that
effect.
My question is how did you upgrade from 2.01 to 2.1. What is the
preferred URL to use for the upgrade.
