Hello,
is there anybody on this list who has experience of
the "Terratec Producer" model PhaseX24FW or Phase24FW
(which has equal performance spec's but less knobs and
connectors)?
Some of the spec's:
- analog playback with up to 24 bit/192 kHz resolution
- analog recording with up to 24 bit/192 kHz resolution
- digital playback with up to 24 bit/96 kHz resolution
- digital recording with up to 24 bit/96 kHz resolution
- digital interface for S/PDIF, AC3 and DTS formats
- 24-bit/192 kHz A/D converter with 110 dB (A) SNR*, 109 dB(A) SNR typical
- 24-bit/192 kHz D/A converter with 114 dB (A) SNR*, 111 dB(A) SNR typical
After reading the manual carefully, two questions remain:
1. Can this box really deliver a true 192 ksps 24-bit 2-channel audio
stream to a Windows application?
2. What is the audio bandwidth at 192 ksps? Is there a ~20kHz anti-alias
filter lurking inside or can I expect to enjoy "near-Nyquist" bandwidth?
3. The weighted SNR figures given are for the ADC and DAC alone, not for
the total system... I hope that they are not using an LM324 for analog
buffering :-)
