Actually Sygate is not free anymore, it was bought out by Norton last
October and is no longer updated by Sygate
http://www.symantec.com/enterprise/sygate/index.jsp ... I really
liked it but I'm not going to shell out 50 bucks per year to Norton
for it because given Norton's history it won't be worth a damn
anymore. You really need to find another firewall because it does have
several security holes that need to be plugged but Norton won't
support the free program

That's the second time Norton has bought a really good firewall I was
using and mucked it up ... now I refuse to buy anything from
Norton/Symantec, I just don't do business with companies that use that
kinda business model of "Buy out the competition and destroy a good
product just to consolidate our market share"

But you really should look for another firewall, there are some holes
in Sygate free edition now that put you at risk and Norton would
rather see your computer hacked into than loss a buck supporting the
program like they ethically should after they bought out Sygate
