For those of you that have another radio with a 10.7MHz IF tap, here's another SDR option.
Mini Circuits (www.minicircuits.com) makes fairly inexpensive IQ demodulator modules. For $89, you can get a small module that has 2 inputs - RF and a 10MHz reference frequency, and I and Q outputs. You can get an inexpensive 10MHz reference frequency from AADE - $39 for the board or $49 with the enclosure. Hook the I and Q outputs to your soundcard and instant SDR!! I am using this setup with my AR5000A and it works GREAT. I had to add a low noise amplifier to the IF output to get the signal up out of the noise - I used an ICE 130B ($59) - it's rated for the entire HF range, but is very low noise and works very well. I am using a E-Mu 0202 external USB soundcard ($150) - it will do up to 192KHz sampling. So with this setup I can tune up to 96KHz on each side of the frequency the radio is set to.
