Just changed the topic to merge the threads Firstly there are a lot of artists out there trying to use these tools that sit on top of PyQt. Not many manage to get them to work because of the installation documentation. Personally I think the sweet spot is a compromise between yours and Erics views. Developers who make use of your plugin should have pushed harder to get the document changes made if they were not going to include it in their documentation,.
Not many of them have access to this list so unless they know some who does they end up not being able to use the tool. This adds to the perception that Softimage is dying because the things are not working. Going on to state that they cant install it because they are stupid is also a very bad position to take. It doesnt help anyone in the greater Softimage community. I think what you guys do is amazing and please dont take this as anything more then just trying to get more people to be able to use the tools with a minimum of hassle. ________________________________ From: Steven Caron [car...@gmail.com] Sent: 11 January 2014 08:59 AM To: softimage@listproc.autodesk.com Cc: softimage@listproc.autodesk.com Subject: Re: rumor, Soft dead within the next year sorry but there is no issue. even with the thread... ;) *written with my thumbs On Jan 10, 2014, at 10:51 PM, Angus Davidson <angus.david...@wits.ac.za<mailto:angus.david...@wits.ac.za>> wrote: Given the new thread perhaps not ;) ________________________________ From: Nick Angus [n...@altvfx.com] Sent: 04 January 2014 02:23 AM To: <mailto:softimage@listproc.autodesk.com> softimage@listproc.autodesk.com<mailto:softimage@listproc.autodesk.com> Subject: RE: rumor, Soft dead within the next year We have been using it here for two years without a single issue, sounds like a problem between chair and keyboard ; ) N From: softimage-boun...@listproc.autodesk.com<mailto:softimage-boun...@listproc.autodesk.com> [mailto:softimage-boun...@listproc.autodesk.com] On Behalf Of Steven Caron Sent: Saturday, 4 January 2014 4:43 AM To: <mailto:softimage@listproc.autodesk.com> softimage@listproc.autodesk.com<mailto:softimage@listproc.autodesk.com> Subject: Re: rumor, Soft dead within the next year hmm, well... if they had questions about installation they didn't ask.
