Do you have more specific feedback regarding that?

We'd love to improve that but I personally don't know how/why different
it is from other backends. Mehdi is our Grafana expert and I'm pretty
sure he could either answer to your questions or add some doc as needed.
:)

That would be great =)

Currently, on software factory instance we have only system metrics, but we plan to add zuul and nodepool metrics (statsd) soon. Please have a look to our metrics dashboard https://softwarefactory-project.io/grafana

My main concern is to be able to create templated dashboards like this one [1] using gnocchi instead influxdb as backend

I found an example to create a template on https://github.com/gnocchixyz/grafana-gnocchi-datasource, but I was not able to create a template using collectd

You have a complete example of Gnocchi+Collectd+Grafana here [1], you
can test the whole stack with just "docker-compose up".

The dashboard used in this example is located here [2], and it uses
Grafana templating system.

You can also take a look to this dashboad [3]. It doesn't use collectd
but also have example of templating with Gnocchi.

[2] https://github.com/gnocchixyz/gnocchi-docker/blob/master/grafana/dashboard.json [3] http://opstools-stats.usersys.redhat.com:3000/dashboard/db/opstools-bugzilla

I will be happy to work with you Mehdi if you have some time to help us to improve your documentation to create template using gnocchi-collectd. Also it will be great to publish our work on https://grafana.com/dashboards to have 1 dashboard using gnocchi backend =)

I will be happy to help to build your dashboard.
