considering that your machine is at the login prompt the best way to get
to the OBP "ok" prompt is either with init0 as you said or with:
shutdown -i0 -g1 -y. STOP-A is another way but using this while you
machine is at the login prompt will leave your filesystems in
inconsistent state.
another way is sending a break on the serial port (from a dumb terminal
connected to the machine or from another station/notebook) - if the
machine is connected to a terminal server you could also use it to send
a break.
if you want your machine to stay at the OBP "ok" prompt after power-on
or reset than you should set the OBP variable AUTO_BOOT? to false.
