Can you ping other servers in your network?
Have you set up default router and DNS (assuming you are using DNS for
name service) on your Solaris 10 server?

Look at files

/etc/defaultrouter
/etc/resolv.conf

Subject
[Solaris-Users] Internet Browsing On Solaris 10

I am new to Solaris 10 on x86 machine.

I have Solaris10 installed on my Dell Laptop. I have assigned an IP
address to the system, and the output of 'ifconfig -a' is ok; I can see
the UP, RUNNING,MULTICAST, e.t.c for the lp0 and the dnet0 entries.

However, the Internet browser on the Solaris 10 does not work; I got
the error: "'www.oracle.com' cannot be found" when I tried to access the
'oracle' web page. Could someone inform me how to make the Internet
browsing possible.

Please note that I installed the Solaris 10 on a virtual machine that
is based on the Dell Laptop.

An early response will be appreciated.

  Cheers.
