Erik Hatcher resolved SOLR-329.
-------------------------------
Resolution: Invalid
Solr most definitely recreates the data directory if it is not there during
startup.
I'm closing this as "Invalid". Perhaps discuss your scenario in more detail
on solr-user and we'll re-open if there is some bug you're experiencing,
however I often remove the data directory and restart Solr with no problems.
> Solr should attempt to create the data directory if it doesn't exist

> Currently, if the data directory doesn't exist, Solr will fail to start.
> Before failing, Solr should attempt to create the data directory.
> In my case, the data directory is in the tmp folder, and so after a restart,
> it has disappeared.
