not sure what more there is to say on either party.


If history is any indication, the issue will lay fallow for 3-4 months then flare up the next time someone bangs their head on JUL.

I agree with Hoss and Erik that JUL is fine in the servlet container context . As a .war file, it is really the container that needs to handle logging. *however* when SOLR is used as a .jar (or a custom .war), it is a shame to force everyone to deal with JUL in addition to whatever else they are already using.

As long as there is strong opposition, I think we can deal with JUL...
