I'll try increasing the heap size and see if I get the problem again. Is core quantity a big issue? As opposed to the size of the cores? Yes, there's 36 but some relate to largely inactive web sites so the average size (assuming my "Master (Searching)" way of calculating this is correct) is less than 4 MB.
