Hi, That maaaay be fine. I'd use the sticky session setting in ELB to avoid having the same user's query hit both master and slave, say while paging through results, and risking seeing inconsistent results. THis will also help with cache utilization. This said, this is not a recommended setup. Note that AWS *just* lowered the prices for Reserved Instances today.
