This matter was discussed about a year ago already..

Another (queite nice on my opinion) solution would be a checkbox in
preferences to toggle the behavior AND an information bubble notifying a
user that a song has been added to current playlist when using the current
behavior - this would at least help to lessen the confusion of newcommers,
because the current behavior that the current playlist window is hidden when
searching a library and no notification is given while doubleclick is made,
is indeed confusing a lot for newcommers..
