Hi, im considering buying a sony vaio z-series laptop for work use, but I'm reluctant as: - I really want to use Ubuntu on it - I need the basic functionality to work under Ubuntu, that is: screen with hardware-acceleration and full screen resolution, speakers/microphone, memory stick, webcam - I cannot have problems like having the fan staying on all the time, or similar issues. - I need to be able to update the system with security-patches in a simple manner (no kernel-kompiling or stuff like that)
