Djavolja Varos leading in internet voting on new seven world wonders March 9, 2009 ImageDjavolja Varos (Infernal City), fascinating and very rare rock formation in southern Serbia, is currently the first on the list of candidates for new seven world wonders in the category of caves, valleys and rock forms – the Serbian Tourist Organization communicated. Djavolja Varos is an area formed under the influence of specific erosion processes that over many millennia formed high columns topped by characteristic stone “caps”. The voting will last until July 7. On July 21, international experts will publish the final list stating 21 candidates, while the result will be officially announced in summer 2010.
