BAKHITA FRIENDS DONATE FOOD TO KAPOETA HUNGER VICTIMS Friday, 17 May 2013 14:58 | Bakhita Friends Charity Society on Friday donated food items to the people of Kapoeta in responses to the hunger situation that hit part of Eastern Equatoria state due to poor harvest resulting from heavy rains.
The charity donated among other things 150 bags of flour that was given to the Eastern Equatoria State Coordination Office in Juba. Bakhita Radio director Alibino Tokwaro said early this year Bakhita Friends discussed what could be done to help the people of Kapoeta. He said they collected food items to help the hunger victims of Kapoeta. Mr Tokwaro urged the citizens not to wait for the government and NGOs, but to begin taking supportive action themselves. Bakhita Friends chairperson Sebit Mawa said the charity is not only helping the people of Kapoeta but would move to all states of South Sudan. He said their society is a group of nationalists who want to see all people in the new country living in peace. Eastern Equatoria State Coordinator Akille Maridi received the donation and expressed happiness for the support. He added that the people of Eastern Equatoria are farmers but it was due to floods that Kapoeta was hit by the hunger. Bakhita Friend’s charity vowed to do more for all in South Sudan. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "South Sudan Info - The Kob" group.
