*YAMBIO, 05 October 2013 [Gurtong] - *The outreach brought hundreds of
young people, elderly and children together with the aim of bringing
services closer to the community at the grassroots.

Mr. Justin AgustinoKirima the director of YMCA mentioned that the purpose
of conducting the HIV Voluntary Counselling and Testing outreach in
Bazungua is to bring services closer to the community because there is
complains of distance in accessing services in the town which always cause
frustration to the community.

He said it is good to bring services to the people in Bazungua Payam as a
new Payam because many citizens do not have access to Yambio.

He said the benefit is that those who did not get chance of accessing
Voluntary Counselling and Testing and learning more information about
HIV/AIDS will come and access the service which is provided closer to them
as the services will help the residents to know their HIV status.

Ms. Rebecca Richard one of the client who got tested appreciated YMCA for
bringing services closer to them in Bazungua Payam adding that they were
having challenge of long distance to come and access services in the town.

She further mentioned that YMCA should keep on conducting this HIV
Voluntary Counselling and Testing in Bazungua Payam in order to help people
know their HIV Status.

She further encourages Bazungua Citizens to go to school and protect
themselves from the deadly disease.

However Mr. Hennery Keliopa another client who came with his partner for
VCT expressed gratitude towards the effort done by YMCA and he urged YMCA
group to continue with the good spirit because transport to access services
in the town has been one of their main challenges.

Hundreds of people gathered in Bazungua main market to learn more
information about HIV/AIDS and learn how to use condoms correctly among
others and many people got tested.
