*YAMBIO, 05 October 2013 [Gurtong] –* The Minister of Education and
Instruction had early this year sent a proposal to GIZ to install a green
house in Yabongo Girl’s Secondary Boarding Secondary School with the aim of
providing grains and vegetables to the students for their balanced diet.

The GIZ coordinator Ms. Kiden Grace Wani in August met the State Minister
of Education Pia Phillip and shared with him on how the green house is
going to be installed at the school.

He mentioned that GIZ has accepted the proposal to install the green house
in the school but before the installation some procedures are needed to be
fulfilled in which GIZ will need land lease from the State Ministry of
Education and Instruction and a sum of 4,360 South Sudanese Pounds as a
contribution from the State Ministry of Education towards the project.

In response, the minister appreciated GIZ for accepting the proposal for
green house and thanked the headmaster for writing and following the
proposal with GIZ.

He added that the intention is to benefit from the partners who are willing
to support education in the state and urges the head master to engage the
Parents Teachers Association (PTA) and train them on how to manage the
green house so that it can be a success to the school and they should take
sustainability of the green house very seriously.

Mr. Gumehe Angbaya, the head master, told the State Minister of Education
and Instruction that he had written the proposal to GIZ to state the
commitment of the school and how the green house will be managed to ensure
no breakdown in future.
