Is Soya3d trying to load "/usr/lib/libGL.so" when it should be trying

I guess you are using Debian with a nvidia hardware ? Some people have
encountered a similar problem in those condition ; the solution is to
install nvidia-glx (or something like that) debian package.

ha Ha! It was actually unnecessary to install the nvidia-glx package, but the documentation therein helped me find the problem. Having the TLS versions of NVIDIA's libGL around *at all* on a 2.4 kernel causes problems. Now that they are gone, things are fine. Thank you.
