Ok... At this point, "spamassassin -d --mbox" will work on whole mbox files.
So that suggestion is done.
The next part, which we should vote on, is:
For rewrites, let's backup the old header (erase any other versions that
exist),
then add the new one in the same spot. ie:
Subject: buy my stuff
becomes:
Subject: **SPAM** buy my stuff
X-Spam-Prev-Subject: buy my stuff
then to remove the markup, you just replace Subject with the
X-Spam-Prev-Subject
header. More specifically: foreach(grep(/^X-Spam-Prev-.*/,@headers)){ next
unless get_header(orig_header_name); do_the_magic() };
or something like that. This would let us not have to load any configs to do
the remove_markup call.
