we need wider testing.  I'm dogfooding 3.0.0, and not seeing problems; but
I'd really like more BSDish platforms trying it out on a relatively large
scale (like installation on a personal domain mailserver like mine) to be
sure.

Otherwise we're going to run into the 2.4x SIGCHLD situation again; no bug
reports until it's released, then a flood of very-hard-to-reproduce
heisenbugs. :(
